Our babymoon to St Louis, was a long weekend. It was a drivable trip for us that allowed us to see a national park but also didn’t require us to camp. We stayed in an Airbnb in Soulard which was conveniently located close to many places. We were also in walking distance to several bars, restaurants, and the farmers market The city has many opportunities that we did not explore but we did enjoy great food, and the big sites.

Day 1

We spent day one by sleeping in and eating brunch at Egg. We enjoyed the tostada, and eggs benedict. It was a great experience and we would definitely go back. After brunch, we enjoyed Schlafly Brewing company. I enjoyed the appetizers and my husband had a flight. We then went to Anheuser Busch for a tour. We did the Day Fresh tour, which seemed to be the most family friendly tour. We reserved our tour months in advance which I highly recommend. We got a quick glimpse of the parts of the brewery along with the history. Following the tour, We went to Mission Taco where we enjoyed chips and salsa, tacos, street corn, and churros. All was fabulous, especially the street corn.

Day 2

Our big outing today was the St Louis Arch. We booked our tickets well in advance to be able to go to the top. We parked in the parking garage close by to the Arch and the Stadium. It was a close walk and allowed us to get coffee prior to our scheduled ride up. Entering the arch, there is a museum with a lot of history about St. Louis, along with Arch. We enjoyed learning about the Arch and why it was built. It was built to bring people to the city and provide a landmark that let people know this was St Louis. My favorite fact is the the arch is a flattened catenary curve.

Following the arch we enjoyed BBQ at Sugarfire BBQ. We were able to walk there from the Arch. This BBQ was phenomenal and we would highly recommend! I enjoyed the PBLT and macaroni. The PBLT is a BLT with pimento cheese. My husband enjoyed The Carolina with a sausage. We left with full bellies and the value was great.

We then rested for the afternoon, then went and enjoyed ice cream at Clementines Naughty or Nice Creamery. Their naughty ice cream was for 21+ as it had alcohol and then other flavors. We followed up by going to the 360 degree rooftop bar downtown for sunset. We were blessed with a beautiful night and views of the city. They offer food, but we enjoyed a drink by the fire. We ended with a meal at Salt and Smoke BBQ. We heard lots of good things about Salt and Smoke, but personally would recommend Sugarfire.
